Re: track width

... amongst V8 Fox Mustangs have to do with wheel width. Rear axle width didn't change. Front track MAY have changed slightly when the spindles were changed after 1986, but I really don't think they did. Bottom line: you can use just about whatever you want to use in front and it will work. ...

Re: Maximum Motorsports Caster/Camber Plates

... 88 GT and my son's 94 GT. Swapped to Tokico Illumina struts on the 88, and to a Bullitt suspension kit on the 94 along with the plates. Plates were easy to figure out and install in both cases, and we got the alignment close enough in the garage that the trip to the alignment shop was not dramatic. ...

Re: TFS Streets/E-303 in a stock 86 short block?

86 pistons have no notches or dish. They are a true flat top piston. 87 LSC's had them as well from what I understand (the E6 heads were used on HO LSC's for '86 AND '87) That being said, The Twisted Wedge heads were actually designed with flat tops in mind and are meant to clear them with ...

Re: Engine Shutdown

... guess for you I would go for that as a start. There was a recall in 1995 for that.. I realize that is sort of a laundry list of issues but these were things that helped me chase that gremlin..

Re: Are 30lb injectors too much?

I got to thinking, if the injectors were too big it would run bad at idle and get better when accelerating since higher rpm would be their realm of happiness. The maf sensor looks stock, is it supposed to be tuned to your injector size, and ...

Re: Are 30lb injectors too much?

Thanks, for the reply Scott. I thought the 30# injectors were the cause of the horrible stumbling problem, now I'm stumped. I just got it Sat. night so still haven't had a chance to check it out very well, for all I know the air filter is clogged up.

Re: Timing in my Mustang was set to 24° !!

... a typical 5.0 with 14* timing with the spout connected will see about 34-36* of TOTAL timing at higher RPM's. With your spout disconnected, you were only seeing 24* total timing. It probably ran perfect @ 2000-25000RPM's I'm guessing. Ran a little sluggish up top and was a pain to start, correct?

Re: New Injectors and correct pressure

... or a lot. If the motor is stock or near stock and you're using the stock speed density ECU you need 14 pound injectors; not 24's. The Cron Vics were not equipped with the H.O. version of the 5.0 from the factory EVER! They were rated at 160 HP with the dual exhaust configuration they had. ...

I just finished swapping a 5.0 EFI from a Crown Vic into my Jeep CJ-5. The stock injectors were shot, but a got a set of Venom 24lb injectors from criags list brand new and dirt cheap. I know these are larger than the stock injectors but will it make a huge difference? ...
