The first thing is get rid of that contaminated oil. I had a similar situation. The car ran horrible and blew black junk out the tail pipes. I ended up taking it to a shop and all they did was change the oil!

Alarm problem caused my 5.0 problems

First; why so low on the pressure? How did you measure it? You should measure the fuel pressure at idle with the vacuum line from the fuel pressure regulator disconnected. Anything between 35-45 will be acceptable on a ...

Your steering column getting hot? Not just warm, I mean HOT.

If so don't drive that car until you swap out that ignition switch. I'll be honest though, that doesn't sound like your issue. From the limited info we have my first choice would be the TFI module.

... and seems to be running a bit rich, other than that it is a serious powerhouse in this Jeep, with it's 4.56 gears and Detroit lockers. This is my first go-around with an fuel injected engine so aqny help getting it running smoothly would be great.

stumble with my '88

Car runs great for first couple of minutes while driving, then it bogs and accelerates sluggishly unless I push the gas pedal down about 3/4 throttle, then it's like a switch is pushed and it accelerates great. Any ideas? Thanks, Norm
